7 of My Favorite Design Porn Sites

Who says porn can never be work appropriate? Of course the bumping uglies kind is never allowed. I'm talking about the porn of the 21st century... design blogs and websites... F*ck yea.

I know it's a bit of a faux pas to link people to outside your blog, but things I felt just needed to be shared in case you haven't heard of some of them. Here a few of the sites that I get off on through my day. (Facebook doesn't count.)

CardObserver.com

CardObserver.com

Cardobserver.com is one of those sites that really stuck to me as a designer through my years studying my degree and now as a professional. I got my first introduction to Moo.com through this site as well as the magic quality of letterpress. Though this site I learned how hundreds of people expressed their individuality on less than a few square inches (sometimes single sided.)

Designspiration.net

Designspiration.net

This is like Pinterest for designers. Enough said.

The Dieline

The Dieline

I love... love.. love packaging. It's design come to life. Its always print focused and requires a knowledgable background in materials, color, typography, form... all the words that hit that D-spot just right.

Abduzeedo.com

Abduzeedo.com

When i started studying design, I came across this website. For years now it has been one of my best resources for new ideas and inspiration. I always land on this website thinking "Why the hell didn't I think of that?" which is always a good feeling when you are a designer. Did I mention they also have free font fridays?

LostType.com

LostType.com

Speaking of free fonts.. the typefaces on this site are everywhere. I mean, I literally stare at them in traffic on the 405 freeway. Here you can find high quality, quirky and FREE typefaces to meet your everyday needs. There are some typefaces here that share the same quality of Helvetica that will make any piece look good no matter what.

iso50.com

iso50.com

If design were rock 'n roll then the man behind iso50.com is a rockstar. The use of the music genre analogy is appropriate. Iso]50 is a blog that combines a passion for forward thinking music and the design that accompanies it. I love the retro color palettes and elements with a sort of vintage-futuristic quirk. This guy is the king of triangle and circle compositions in my book.

DavidAirey.com

DavidAirey.com

You can keep your SwissMiss. I've been following David Airey online since the day I started designing. He lives the life, read about it for yourself. Since this entry is themed for design porn, then naturally I had to feature my favorite design pornstar. His blogs are to the point, no-nonsense and I love it when he showcases his minimalist printed business cards.
